Just came across a list of places my late father in law visited and commented on. He really liked this cave. Thank you for showing it. I have not yet visited it, but It reminds me a little bit of Skylight Cave, which I have been to. Seems in this part of Oregon if one is not careful they could almost step right into a hole and fall into a cave! If you are still answering comments on this video I would like to ask why is it an ice cave when it appears as volcanic rock. Is part of it frozen in summer time? Is it better to visit in one time of year over another? Thank you. I would like to visit the places my father in law has written down that I have not been to.

Ships passing close to Yaquina Head have reported their compasses going awry. While eerie, there is a simple explanation for this. The outcropping on which the lighthouse sits contains a vein of magnetized iron, and if a ship passes too close, a traditional compass will not give an accurate reading.
